Our Teacher, Zen Master Seung Sahn (“Dae Soen Sa Nim”), sometimes said to people who were in a dilemma about what to do about their life, “You must decide what is most important, for your life. Only YOU must find that. There are many, many important things: get a good job, maybe have a baby, or what kind of partner, or what kind of good situation, or what kind of relationship with someone. Many, many important things. But there is only one thing, most important thing for your life. God cannot give that to you. Buddha cannot give that decision to you. Only you must find that, and only do it. Then, when you find that and just DO it, then anything else that you decide to do will have meaning and help your life. If you cannot find that one thing, then even you get those other things, you are never happy! Never happy!”
Ramana Maharshi gives you a big nudge, right here — it’s the same thing Dae Soen Sa Nim was pointing to, all the time. What are you waiting for?
